There's a management adage that says, "You can't manage what you can't measure." In that spirit, San Mateo County Energy Watch has partnered to present trends in community-wide energy use on a city-by-city basis. It is our hope that this data will enable local government staff, elected officials, and community members to better understand how much energy they're collectively using in residential, commercial, and public buildings and see the impact when they implement energy efficiency and solar energy projects. We plan to update this information annually to help citizens in San Mateo County make informed decisions about energy use.
Data used in the Regional Climate Action Planning Suite (RICAPS) reports is available via the County of San Mateo's Open Data Portal. You can discover, visualize, and download data from RICAPS and other County programs as well.
